The official presentation of the event took place on the terrace of Club Oceans Calvià Beach, right on Magaluf beach. There, the mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual, highlighted the municipality’s commitment to culture and the audiovisual sector as drivers of tourism transformation.

According to the mayor, initiatives such as the film route “Calvià, Film Set” and the celebration of CONECTA help position Magaluf as a destination linked to culture, creativity and international professional events.

The event is supported by the Government of the Balearic Islands through the Sustainable Tourism Tax, as well as by ICIB, IB3, the Consell de Mallorca and Palma City Council.

Artificial intelligence takes center stage at CONECTA 2026

One of the most anticipated moments will be the session “AI and Vertical Microdramas on Trial”, scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, where industry experts will debate the real impact of artificial intelligence on the audiovisual sector.

The session will take the form of a mock trial led by María Rua Aguete, analyst at consultancy firm Omdia. The audience will act as the jury in a debate about the opportunities, risks and ethical limits of AI.

In addition, creator Paco Torres will lead a live workshop in which he will produce an entire episode of a vertical series using only artificial intelligence tools.

Movistar Plus+ to premiere its new series in Magaluf

One of the major public highlights will be the special screening of the original Movistar Plus+ series “Se tiene que morir mucha gente”, based on the novel by Victoria Martín.

The production stars Anna Castillo, Macarena García and Laura Weissmahr, and will have a special screening on Wednesday, May 27 at 7:00 pm at the Casal de Peguera.

International networking and exclusive meetings

The forum will once again focus on exclusive networking and professional matchmaking spaces, consolidating itself as one of Europe’s leading audiovisual events for generating international connections.

Among the most important meetings are:

  • Conecta SUMMIT, featuring international executives from platforms, studios and production companies.
  • Conecta CREATIVE LAB, the event’s international think tank.
  • Focus on Commissioners, with programming executives from RTVE, RAI, Mediaset and France Télévisions.

The aim is to foster international collaborations and analyze the future direction of the global entertainment and audiovisual production industry.

Microdramas, creators and new business models

The rise of digital content will also play a central role at CONECTA Magaluf 2026. The event will explore how digital creators, platforms and production companies are reshaping entertainment consumption and business models.

Sessions focused on vertical microdramas and the creator economy will address one of the fastest-growing global trends, especially among younger mobile audiences.

Magaluf strengthens its position as a cultural and MICE destination in Mallorca
