Palma will host a new edition of “Viu Palma. La ciutat de les compres” from 17th to 19th September 2026, a campaign aimed at bringing commercial areas to life with flash mobs, brass bands, xeremiers and circus parades across different streets and squares in the city. The initiative, promoted by PalmaActiva and PIMECO, aims to support small businesses and attract visitors to Palma’s main shopping areas.
The Viu Palma 2026 campaign will run for three consecutive days, from Thursday 17th to Saturday 19th September, with travelling activities taking place across different neighbourhoods and shopping areas.
The aim is to combine shopping, culture and entertainment to encourage residents and visitors to explore the city, discover local businesses and shop at independent stores.
Viu Palma 2026 programme
The programme will begin on the afternoon of Thursday, 17th September and continue until Saturday 19th, with activities taking place both in the morning and afternoon.
Thursday, 17th September
From 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, a flash mob will travel through plaça d’Espanya, plaça Major, plaça del Mercat and La Rambla.
At the same time, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, a brass band will pass through Nuredduna, Sindicat and Velázquez, while the xeremiers will make their way through Oms, Sant Miquel, Jaume II and Santo Domingo.
The day will be completed with a circus parade in plaça de París, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
Friday, 18th September
On Friday, the flash mob will return from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in plaça d’Espanya, plaça Major, plaça del Mercat and La Rambla.
From 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, a circus parade will travel through Nuredduna, Sindicat, Jaume II and Sant Nicolau.
During the same time slot, a brass band will bring music to Argenteria, Sant Miquel and Oms, while the xeremiers will perform in plaça de Madrid.
Saturday 19th: morning and afternoon activities
The final day of Viu Palma will extend the programme to different parts of the city.
In the morning, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, there will be a brass band in Son Ferriol.
Between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, a flash mob will travel through plaça d’Espanya, Els Geranis, l’Olivar and Sindicat.
Also from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, there will be circus activities in Blanquerna, Sant Miquel, Oms, Jaume II and plaça del Mercat, while the xeremiers will pass through Pere Garau, Sindicat and Velázquez.
In the afternoon, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, the xeremiers will travel through Sindicat, Colom, Jaume III and plaça d’Espanya.
During the same time slot, a circus parade will pass through plaça d’Espanya, plaça Major and plaça del Mercat.
A campaign to support Palma’s small businesses
“Viu Palma. La ciutat de les compres” is promoted by PalmaActiva and PIMECO with the aim of strengthening local retail and generating more activity in the streets.
The campaign aims to take activities to different shopping areas rather than concentrating them solely in the city centre, with events in places including Pere Garau, Son Ferriol, Blanquerna, Nuredduna, plaça de Madrid and Els Geranis, as well as Palma’s main central shopping areas.
Throughout the three days, the activities will be travelling events designed to reach different audiences and make the streets more lively and dynamic.
