RUN4ELA celebrates its 10th edition in Mallorca this Saturday, 10th October 2026, with a charity race aimed at supporting people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and their families. The event will take place at the UIB’s Edificio de Hostelería and will feature two routes: a 2.5-kilometre popular course and a 5.7-kilometre running race.

The RUN4ELA 2026 returns to Mallorca with another day of sport and solidarity organised by ELA Balears. The event reaches its 10th edition this year and will once again bring together runners, families and participants of all ages with the aim of raising awareness of ALS and collecting funds for people affected by the disease.

The meeting point will be the Edificio de Hostelería at the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB), where the two race formats organised for the event will take place.

When and where is RUN4ELA 2026 taking place?

The 10th edition of RUN4ELA will take place on Saturday, 10th October 2026 at the UIB campus in Palma.

The start and meeting point will be located at the Edificio de Hostelería at the Universitat de les Illes Balears.

The organisers have designed the event to suit different fitness levels, with a more accessible option and another for participants looking for a more demanding sporting challenge.

RUN4ELA routes: 2.5 km and 5.7 km

The event will feature two distances.

The 2.5-kilometre popular route is designed for walking, running or taking part as a family, making it accessible to people of different ages and fitness levels.

The second option will be a 5.7-kilometre running race, aimed at those who want to complete the course at a faster pace and take on a more demanding sporting challenge.

Both options share the same charitable goal: supporting the work carried out by ELA Balears with people affected by ALS and their families.

Registration for RUN4ELA 2026

Registration for the race is available through Elitechip.

Those who are unable to attend in person can also support the initiative through the Dorsal 0, making a charitable donation without having to take part in either route.

What will the money raised be used for?

All funds raised during this 10th edition will go towards the purchase of support equipment for families assisted by ELA Balears.

More specifically, the association plans to purchase an adjustable bed and a patient lift, two resources designed to make everyday care easier and improve the autonomy and quality of life of people living with ALS.

This means that both race registrations and donations made through the Dorsal 0 will have a direct impact on the needs of the families supported by the association.

Ten editions of RUN4ELA in Mallorca

In 2026, the race reaches its 10th edition, consolidating its position as one of the main awareness and fundraising initiatives promoted by ELA Balears.

The association encourages people to take part not only by running, but also by walking, supporting other participants or making a donation.

RUN4ELA therefore combines sport and awareness around a disease that creates significant care, social and financial needs as it progresses.

What is ALS?

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive and currently incurable neurodegenerative disease that affects the motor neurons responsible for controlling voluntary movement.

As the disease progresses, people affected may experience a gradual loss of mobility, as well as difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing.

These circumstances mean that support and care needs change over the course of the disease, affecting both those diagnosed and their families.
