Mediterranean Fest comes to Sóller on the 9th and 10th of September after having been postponed for weather reasons, as it was originally scheduled to be held from the 1st to the 3rd. It is a project that arose from the need to raise awareness in society and teach them how to protect the waters of the Balearic Sea in order to conserve them. To this end, the event combines science, sustainability, leisure, culture and sport.

The aim of the Mediterranean Fest in Sóller is to carry out tasks such as beach and seabed cleaning, but it will also feature workshops and conferences. There will even be a street market, live music and the screening of documentaries related to the theme. Finally, the event’s programme includes the Balearic Islands 2023 Psicobloc Championship and the 2nd Psicobloc Competition in Port de Sóller – Miquel Riera Cup, postponed until Saturday 9th September.

The ambassador of this project is Gador Muntaner, a marine scientist and populariser. Gador points to Sóller as one of the most important and emblematic ports of the Balearic Sea, with a strong history always linked to the ocean. In this way, Mediterranean Fest invites all Mallorcans and visitors to discover the importance of conserving the sea and to better understand how to get involved in protecting it on Sóller’s beaches.
