The Teatre Principal de Palma launches its 2026-2027 season with subscriptions going on sale from 2nd September and general tickets from the 5th. The programme brings together theatre, dance, music, family shows and a new Opera Season, with names including La Zaranda, Coque Malla, Jaume Anglada, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Adriana Ozores and Àngels Gonyalons.
The new 2026-2027 season at the Teatre Principal de Palma now has confirmed dates for ticket sales.
Subscriptions will be available from Wednesday, 2nd September, both at the theatre’s physical box office and through its website, while general tickets will go on sale on Saturday, 5th September.
The programme will officially begin on 25th September with Todos los ángeles alzaron el vuelo, by the historic company La Zaranda, and will continue over the following months with a wide selection of theatre, concerts, dance, family shows and opera.
When do tickets for the Teatre Principal de Palma go on sale?
Sales will take place in two stages.
On Wednesday, 2nd September, the different subscriptions for the 2026-2027 season will go on sale. Subscribers will therefore have several days to choose their preferred seats before general ticket sales begin.
In addition, the first 50 people to purchase their subscription directly from the Teatre Principal box office will receive a gift.
Individual tickets for all performances will be available from Saturday, 5th September.
The physical box office is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. On Sundays, it opens one hour before the performance begins.
Teatre Principal subscriptions: discounts of up to 40%
The Teatre Principal is keeping the same subscription prices and options for this season.
The largest discount is offered by the Abono Extra, which provides a 40% discount when purchasing tickets for five or more performances, excluding opera.
The Abono General offers a 25% discount when choosing three or four performances. The Familiar Intergeneracional subscription also remains available, offering a 25% discount on two tickets for two or more shows in the family programme.
Other options include the Abono Duo, with a 25% discount; the Abono Dansa, also offering 25% off two or more dance performances; and the Abono Òpera, with a 20% discount for audiences choosing two or more titles from the Opera Season.
La Zaranda will open the season on 25th September
The first major theatre production will arrive on 25th September with La Zaranda and Todos los ángeles alzaron el vuelo, a work exploring the margins of society through reflection and social criticism.
Two days later, on 27th September, Ester Guntín will open the dance programme with Quiso negro.
The theatre programme will continue on 30th September with El arquitecto, by Josep R. Cerdà, as part of Fira B!, followed by Cyrano on 1st October and Bachata on the 2nd.
On 3rd October, Minucia Teatro from Menorca will present Palabras delicadas.
Coque Malla, Àngels Gonyalons and Adriana Ozores among the season’s leading names
The autumn programme will bring together several productions featuring well-known performers.
On 6th November, Andrea Jiménez will present Casting Lear, a production inspired by Shakespeare’s King Lear.
On 14th November, Àngels Gonyalons will star in El retrato de Dorian Gray, an adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s novel that has appeared at Barcelona’s Grec Festival.
Another highlight will be Tot fent «La bella Helena», by Miquel Mas Fiol, on 29th November. The production is a collaboration between the Teatre Principal and Barcelona’s Teatre Lliure.
On 3rd December, Pere Arquillué and Imma Colomer will perform Dinamarca, by Lluïsa Cunillé.
Two days later, one of the season’s most anticipated productions will arrive: Coque Malla will star in La ópera de los tres centavos, by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill.
In 2027, on 24th January, Adriana Ozores and Miguel Hermoso will lead the cast of El jardín quemado, by Juan Mayorga.
Jaume Anglada returns to the Teatre Principal
One of the highlights of the music programme will come on 7th November, when Jaume Anglada returns to the stage after more than a year away from performing.
The programme also includes a new edition of the ME_MMIX festival on 13th November, featuring Ensemble Phace and Nacho de Paz.
On 25th November, the Jazz Voyeur Festival will arrive at the Principal with acclaimed American jazz singer Cécile McLorin Salvant and pianist Sullivan Fortner.
Germans Tanner will perform their Infinitamente concert on 1st December, while the Alternatilla Festival will close its tenth edition with a special concert on 10th December.
Christmas concerts and symphonic music
Even before the theatre season officially opens, the traditional film music concert by the Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears will take place on 24th September.
This year’s Extraordinary Santa Cecilia Concert, scheduled for 22nd November, will feature the Banda de Música de Santanyí.
The Teatre Principal choirs will perform their traditional Christmas Concert on 16th and 17th December.
In January, the Orquestra de Cambra de Mallorca, conducted by Bernat Quetglas, will celebrate its first ten years with a special concert on 23rd January.
Theatre for families and children in Palma
Family programming will once again play an important role during the season.
Tumbalafusta, by Xavier Bobés, Pau Matas and La Ruta 40, will be performed on 10th and 11th October.
On 20th and 21st November, Niu will arrive at the theatre, a new Teatre Principal co-production with Catalina Florit and Irene Soler designed especially for very young children.
During the Christmas period, on 2nd and 3rd January 2027, Txema Muñoz will present Gota, a production recognised with awards including the Max Award and the FETEN Award for Best Street Show.
The children’s programme will continue in March with a new edition of Opera for Babies.
2026-2027 Opera Season in Palma
The 41st Teatre Principal Opera Season will feature six major events between October 2026 and June 2027.
The first title will be Faust, by Charles Gounod, in a production by the Opéra de Lille and the Opéra Comique in Paris. Performances are scheduled for 28th and 30th October and 1st November.
Zarzuela will arrive on 8th and 10th January with Pablo Sorozábal’s La tabernera del puerto, with stage direction by Mario Gas and musical direction by Manuel Coves.
One of the season’s major premieres will arrive in February with Orlando furioso. It will be the first opera by Antonio Vivaldi to form part of the history of the Teatre Principal Opera Season, with performances on the 17th, 19th and 21st.
The Easter Concert will take place on 24th March, followed by Arnold Schönberg’s Pierrot Lunaire on 28th April.
The cycle will conclude in June with Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, starring soprano Erika Grimaldi. There will be four performances on 14th, 16th, 18th and 20th June 2027.
A season running until June 2027
The 2026-2027 programme will once again divide activity between the Teatre Principal’s Sala Gran and Sala Petita, combining its own productions and co-productions with companies and theatres from outside Mallorca.
Subscriptions going on sale from 2nd September and general ticket sales beginning on 5th September mark the start of a season that will begin on stage on the 25th with La Zaranda and continue until June 2027 with Madama Butterfly.
