The Galilea Festivities 2026 continue throughout the first half of September with one of Mallorca’s most distinctive local programmes. The traditional Embutar, the Gran Revetla with Mercurio Retrógrado and Aftersuns, Cucorba’s farewell tour, traditional games, music, theatre, family activities and the Mare de Déu celebrations will fill this village in the municipality of Puigpunyent until 12th September.
The Galilea Festivities 2026, the Festes de la Mare de Déu, are heading into their main days after an opening weekend already filled with music, tradition and activities for all ages.
The programme will continue until Saturday, 12th September and retains many of the hallmarks of these celebrations: gatherings in Sa Plaça, xeremiers, traditional food and, above all, Embutar, one of Galilea’s most characteristic games.
This year’s programme also features concerts, the Gran Revetla, an astronomy night at Sa Mola, nature activities, cinema, theatre and the return of Cucorba, currently on their farewell tour after almost half a century on stage.

Wednesday, 2nd September
8:00 pm. Dinner organised by the Penya Mallorquinista de Galilea
The supporters’ club celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026 with a dinner in Sa Plaça featuring players and entertainment. Advance registration and ticket purchase are required.
Friday, 4th September: traditional games, Embutar and music
Friday will be one of the busiest days of the festivities.
9:00 am. Connexió amb sa Mola Gran
An activity combining breathing, gentle movement, silence and contact with nature, guided in Catalan and English.
10:00 am. Traditional games
Sa Plaça will bring back activities such as skittles, sack races, tug-of-war, sling shooting and spinning tops.
6:00 pm. Beach volleyball tournament
The tournament will take place on the sand court at Estadi Figueral.
6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Terra Alta youth club exhibition
The Edifici Polivalent will host an exhibition of old photographs dedicated to Galilea’s former Terra Alta youth club. A slide show will take place at 7:00 pm. The exhibition will also be open on 5th and 6th September.
8:00 pm. Sopar a Plaça
A community dinner featuring pa amb oli, Mallorcan cheese, sangria and sweet pastries. The price is €10, plus a refundable €2 deposit for a plate and cup.
10:00 pm. Embutar
One of the great traditions of the festivities will then take centre stage. The official programme describes s’Embutar as “Galilea’s emblematic game”. It is open to participants aged 13 and over and will be accompanied by the Xeremiers de Son Roca.
Midnight. Nit de música
The celebrations will continue with Pollo al Curry and Bou Lovers, two bands that emerged from the Escola de Música de Puigpunyent.
Saturday, 5th September: Gran Revetla in Galilea
Saturday will begin with nature-related activities and continue until late into the night.
10:30 am. Volada d’estels, at Sa Mola.
11:30 am. Nest box workshop, where participants can make shelters for nesting birds.
12:30 pm. Bird drawing workshop, led by Aina Bonner.
6:00 pm. Salt jar workshop, organised by former members of the Terra Alta youth club.
6:30 pm. Singles vs married football match
The sports centre will bring back this classic of the festivities as a mixed match open to anyone who wants to take part.
Gran Revetla with Mercurio Retrógrado, Aftersuns and DJ Kavot
At 11:00 pm, one of the highlights of the Galilea Festivities 2026 will begin: the Gran Revetla in Sa Plaça.
The evening will feature performances by Mercurio Retrógrado and Aftersuns, followed by a set from DJ Kavot.
Sunday, 6th September: charity race and Horabauxa
Sunday will begin at 10:00 am with inflatable water attractions and a children’s pool at the sports centre. The organisers warn that the activity will be cancelled if water restrictions are in place in the municipality.
At 11:00 am, the Penya Mallorquinista de Galilea will organise the second edition of its Chess Tournament.
In the afternoon, at 6:00 pm, the 11th Cursa o Passejada Solidària in aid of Càritas will set off from Sa Plaça. Registration costs €5, with the option of making an additional donation.
The day will end at 8:30 pm with the Horabauxa, returning after the success of last year’s edition. DJ El Niño Alcalino will play funk classics and other styles on vinyl.
Cucorba comes to Galilea on its farewell tour
One of the most special events in the programme will take place on Monday, 7th September at 7:00 pm.
Cucorba will perform in Sa Plaça as part of what the programme describes as their farewell tour after almost half a century on stage.
The organisers even note that this could be one of the last opportunities to see the historic Mallorcan children’s entertainment group perform live.
The evening will continue at 9:00 pm with an open-air screening of the film Hoppers, suitable for all ages.
8th September: Mare de Déu day in Galilea
Tuesday, 8th September will feature the most traditional events associated with the Mare de Déu celebrations.
At 10:00 am, the Xeremiers de Son Roca will parade through the streets of Galilea.
At 11:00 am, a solemn Mass will be held at the Església de la Immaculada Concepció, featuring the Ball de l’Oferta performed by the Escola de Ball de Galilea.
At 12:00 noon, Sa Plaça will host a tribute to the village’s senior residents, accompanied by refreshments.
The day will end at 8:30 pm with theatre. Trencadissa, a company from Santa Margalida, will perform the comedy Tanatori 3, written by Jaume Grimalt.
Astronomy night at Sa Mola
The festivities will continue after Mare de Déu day.
On Friday, 11th September at 11:00 pm, Sa Mola will host Vespre astronòmic: coneguem el nostre cel.
The activity will be led by Amado Carbonell, astronomer and president of the Observatori Astronòmic de Mallorca, and will explore the history of the constellations visible that night as well as deep-sky objects through a telescope.
Festó to bring the Galilea Festivities 2026 to a close
Saturday 12th will be the final day of the programme.
At 9:30 am, Benet Morey will lead a walk around the surrounding area of Galilea to discover the Rota de Son Cotoner.
Finally, at 9:00 pm, Sa Plaça will host the Festó, a community dinner where each resident brings a culinary speciality to share.
The prizes for this year’s decorated façade competition will also be presented during the evening.
Festivities shaped by Galilea’s traditions
The celebrations began on 28th August with tournaments, karaoke and traditional activities, while the opening weekend already brought back some of the most characteristic scenes of the festivities: decorating the entrance to the square, the xeremiers, the appearance of the Dimoni de Neu, the opening proclamation and the children’s Embutar.
For 2026, the organisers have combined these traditions with new additions including astronomy activities, workshops, a decorated façade competition and a new sand court for pétanque and beach volleyball.
