Fornalutx is preparing to celebrate its 2026 festivities with a programme running from late August until 12th September. One of the first major events will be the Nit de l’Art on Saturday, 29th August, when the village streets will become exhibition spaces combining art, a screening at Can Xoroi and live music. The programme will continue in September with the traditional Davallada del Bou, open-air parties, children’s activities, food events and celebrations in honour of the patron saint.
The Fornalutx Festivities 2026 once again bring together tradition, culture, music and popular activities over more than two weeks.
Although the main patron saint celebrations are concentrated between 4th and 8th September, the programme begins in late August with several sporting and festive events and, in particular, the Nit de l’Art in Fornalutx, which will take place this Saturday, 29th August.
The art event will begin at 6:00 pm, bringing exhibitions into the streets of the village before continuing with a screening at Can Xoroi and music in the main square.
Nit de l’Art Fornalutx 2026: art fills the streets on 29th August
The Nit de l’Art Fornalutx 2026 will be one of the first major highlights of the festivities.
The programme on Saturday, 29th August will begin at 6:00 pm with the Nit de l’Art throughout the streets of Fornalutx and an exhibition of works by participating artists.
At 8:00 pm, there will be a screening at Can Xoroi, and from 9:00 pm the activity will move to the square with music by Cocktail Duo.
The art programme takes place on the same day as the final stages of the Children’s Tennis Tournament at Sa Rutlana, scheduled for the morning.

Exhibitions and Davallada del Bou to begin the main days of the festivities
The main days of the festivities will begin on Friday, 4th September.
At 7:00 pm, exhibitions by Delmar Leon and Marcos Aparecido will open at the senior citizens’ centre and the Town Hall cloister respectively.
On Saturday 5th, one of the events most closely linked to Fornalutx’s festive traditions will take place.
At 8:00 am, the Davallada del Bou will take place, accompanied by the Xeremiers de Fornalutx.
After breakfast, at 11:00 am, Xaranga Quack! will perform in the square. The afternoon programme will include the children’s Xop Park on Carrer de Sa Font and the 17th Tirada Festes de Fornalutx sling-shooting competition.
The evening will feature a youth party with DJ Jara at 10:00 pm, Horris Kamoi at midnight and DJ Santi Pérez at 2:00 am.
Open-air party, tribute to senior residents and charity fideuà
Sunday, 6th September will begin at 10:30 am with a solemn Mass dedicated to senior residents.
At 11:30 am, there will be a musical performance by children from Fornalutx, followed by the traditional tribute to senior citizens.
The children’s programme will continue at 5:00 pm with Clown Car, while the day will end at 10:30 pm with an open-air party featuring Orquesta Galatzó and Ojos de Serpiente, a Fito y Fitipaldis tribute band.
Monday 7th will begin with a family ceramics workshop led by Elvira Valls and Jerònia Cañellas. In the afternoon there will be children’s entertainment and, at 8:00 pm, a charity fideuà in aid of Sóller Solidari at the Carrer Arbona Colom car park, accompanied by the Txaranga of the Banda de Música de Sóller.
8th September, Fornalutx patron saint’s day
Tuesday, 8th September will be one of the main days of the festivities, dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, patron saint of Fornalutx.
At 10:00 am, a parade with the Banda de Música de Sóller will begin, followed half an hour later by a solemn Mass in honour of the patron saint.
At 11:30 am, refreshments will be served in the square.
The afternoon will continue with children’s entertainment by Tipi Tipi Top in the courtyard of Can Xoroi and, also at 5:00 pm, a traditional dance exhibition and ballada popular with Aires Sollerics.
The day will end at 8:30 pm with a large sopar a la fresca at the Carrer Arbona Colom car park, accompanied by a performance from Duo Delmón.
The festivities will continue until 12th September
The programme will not end with the patron saint’s day.
On Wednesday, 9th September, at 5:00 pm, Can Xoroi will host the micro-theatre production FOTO 51, performed by Genèrica.
Finally, on Saturday, 12th September at 11:30 am, the square will host the 4th Trobada de Colles de Xeremiers, bringing the programme to a close.
Fornalutx does not plan fireworks due to the risk of fire
This year’s programme also includes an important notice. The Town Council has announced that, due to the high risk of wildfire, no fireworks or rockets are currently planned during the festivities.
The decision could only be reconsidered if weather conditions improve sufficiently for them to be used safely.
With the Nit de l’Art as the first major cultural event and a programme combining the traditional Davallada del Bou, music, exhibitions, family activities and patron saint celebrations, Fornalutx is preparing for festivities that will run from late August until mid-September.
