Manacor Jazz Festival 2026: programme and concerts

Manacor will celebrate the third edition of its Jazz Festival this September with three days of concerts on the 19th, 26th and 27th. Toni Saigi Quartet, Anggie Obin Quartet, K12 and Irene Reig Quartet will perform at Plaça del Rector Rubí, while the closing event will move to the Auditori de Manacor with Jorge Rossy Vibes Quartet and the Voodoo Children Orchestra conducted by Toni Vaquer.

The Manacor Jazz Festival 2026 returns this September with a third edition that expands its programme, combining open-air concerts with a special closing event at the Auditori de Manacor.

The festival will take place on 19th, 26th and 27th September and is jointly organised by Manacor Town Council and the Associació Musical i Cultural s’Escat.

The first two evenings will take place at Plaça del Rector Rubí, with four groups linked to the Mallorcan and Catalan jazz scenes. On Sunday 27th, the festival will take a further step forward with a closing event featuring internationally renowned musicians and Toni Vaquer’s Voodoo Children Orchestra.

Saturday, 19th September

8:00 pm. Toni Saigi Quartet

The opening performance will feature Toni Saigi on piano, Jaume Llombart on guitar, Marc Cuevas on double bass and Andreu Pitarch on drums.

The group draws on the tradition of hard bop while opening its sound to contemporary musical languages, with original compositions and improvisation as two of the main elements of its approach.

9:30 pm. Anggie Obin Quartet

Next on stage will be Anggie Obin Quartet, featuring Anggie Obin on flute, Gorka Benítez on tenor saxophone and flute, Horacio Fumero on double bass and David Xirgu on drums.

The group offers a contemporary jazz sound incorporating influences from Latin American music, with improvisation and musical dialogue playing a central role.

Saturday, 26th September: K12 and Irene Reig Quartet

The second evening will once again take place at Plaça del Rector Rubí.

8:00 pm. K12

K12 is formed by Gori Matas on piano and keyboards, Marko Lohikari on double bass and Teo Salvà on drums.

The trio will present a repertoire of original compositions in which jazz coexists with influences from pop, classical and contemporary music.

9:30 pm. Irene Reig Quartet

The evening will continue with Irene Reig Quartet, one of the standout groups on the current Catalan jazz scene.

Irene Reig will perform on saxophone, accompanied by Will Barry on piano, Pau Sala on double bass and Andreu Pitarch on drums.

Their music combines hard bop roots with original compositions, contemporary arrangements and a strong emphasis on improvisation.

Jorge Rossy to headline the closing event at the Auditori de Manacor

The main new feature of the third edition will arrive on Sunday, 27th September, when the festival leaves Plaça del Rector Rubí and moves to the Auditori de Manacor.

The evening will bring together Jorge Rossy Vibes Quartet and the Voodoo Children Orchestra, conducted by Toni Vaquer.

Jorge Rossy Vibes Quartet features Jorge Rossy on vibraphone and marimba, Milena Casado on trumpet, Robert Landfermann on double bass and Cornelia Nilsson on drums.

Rossy is one of Spain’s most internationally recognised jazz musicians. Before developing his work as a vibraphonist and marimba player, he built an extensive career as a drummer, appearing on more than 180 recordings as a collaborator and working with musicians including Brad Mehldau, Joshua Redman, Wayne Shorter, Charlie Haden and Joe Lovano.

Milena Casado, Cornelia Nilsson and Robert Landfermann

The quartet also brings together musicians from different international jazz scenes.

Spanish trumpeter, composer and producer Milena Casado, based in New York, has worked with musicians including Terri Lyne Carrington, Kris Davis, Kenny Werner and Jorge Rossy himself.

Swedish drummer Cornelia Nilsson is part of the current Scandinavian jazz scene and received the Ben Webster Prize in 2024.

The line-up is completed by German double bassist Robert Landfermann, a prominent figure on the European creative jazz scene.

Toni Vaquer’s Voodoo Children Orchestra

The second part of the closing event will feature the Voodoo Children Orchestra, conducted by Mallorcan composer, arranger and pianist Toni Vaquer.

Jorge Rossy, Milena Casado, Cornelia Nilsson and Robert Landfermann will also join the performance as guest musicians.

Vaquer trained at the Conservatori del Liceu and later at Berklee College of Music, where he studied composition and arranging. Since 2018, he has taught in the Jazz and Modern Music Department at the Conservatori Superior del Liceu.

Voodoo Children Orchestra is his largest-scale project, a group of around fifty musicians that starts from the concept of a big band and expands it with instruments from classical music and different folk traditions.

The project seeks to blur the boundaries between genres, turning the orchestra into a space for compositional experimentation and a meeting point for new generations of Mallorcan musicians.

Its most recent work, Kindness Disarms, brings together compositions created during the pandemic years and reflects the project’s musical evolution.

A jazz festival celebrating its third edition in Manacor

The Jazz Festival reaches its third edition in 2026 with the aim of continuing to establish itself within Manacor’s cultural programme.

The format maintains the intimacy of the concerts at Plaça del Rector Rubí, while this year adding a larger-scale closing event at the Auditori.

The organisers also highlight the collaboration between the Town Council and the Associació Musical i Cultural s’Escat as one of the pillars of a project designed to bring jazz to a broad audience and connect the local music scene with nationally and internationally recognised performers.
