The Palau del Consell de Mallorca will become a musical venue this June with the Concerts a Palau cycle, a cultural initiative featuring four performances of different styles in the plenary hall of the island institution.

The programme will begin on Friday, 5 June 2026 and will take place over several weekends during the month, with concerts featuring classical music, pop-rock, a fusion of traditional Mallorcan music and jazz, and choral singing.

A musical cycle in an emblematic venue in Palma

Concert cycle at the Palau del Consell Mallorca

The Concerts a Palau cycle invites audiences to enjoy music in an unusual setting for this type of performance: the Palau del Consell, the main headquarters of the Consell de Mallorca and one of Palma’s most representative institutional buildings.

The initiative aims to bring culture closer to the public through a varied programme designed for different musical tastes.

Concerts a Palau 2026 programme

The cycle’s calendar includes four concerts during the month of June:

Dúo Van Roy-Roig: classical music and lieder

The cycle will open with a performance by the Dúo Van Roy-Roig, formed by Mallorcan soprano Cristina Van Roy and pianist Joan Roig.

Their repertoire includes classical works and lieder by composers such as Chopin, Grieg and Orfila, as well as contemporary pieces. An opening performance designed for those who enjoy vocal and chamber music in an intimate format.

The Margarettes: pop and rock in several languages

The second concert will be performed by The Margarettes, a trio formed by Nick Lore, Jaume Llodrà and Àngel Ríos.

The group stands out for its versatile, multilingual repertoire, with songs in Catalan, Spanish and English. Their proposal brings together major pop and rock hits from different periods, adding a more contemporary and popular register to the cycle.

Ovella Negra: Mallorcan tradition and jazz

On Sunday, 21 June, it will be the turn of Ovella Negra, a project that combines traditional Mallorcan music with jazz.

This concert introduces a more experimental approach within the programme, with a fusion of roots and contemporaneity that connects the island’s musical heritage with current languages.

Coral de Montlliri: closing with choral music

The Coral de Montlliri will close the cycle on Saturday, 27 June.

The vocal ensemble from Montuïri, made up of 52 singers and conducted by Maria Magdalena Oliver, was founded in 1910 with the aim of sharing, enjoying and promoting music in all its forms.

A cultural event for June in Palma

Concerts a Palau joins Mallorca’s cultural agenda as a different kind of proposal: concerts in an institutional space, with a short but varied programme open to different musical styles.

For those looking for things to do in Palma in June, this cycle offers an interesting opportunity to discover the Palau del Consell from another perspective and enjoy live music in the heart of the city.
