The new flights between Palma and Montreal are now a reality for summer 2026. Air Canada has announced the launch of a new direct connection between Mallorca and Canada, one of the most significant international routes for the upcoming tourist season on the island.
The new route will link Palma de Mallorca and Montreal between June and October 2026 and will also be the first completely new connection operated by Air Canada with the highly anticipated Airbus A321XLR, its new long-range aircraft.
Air Canada to operate direct flights between Palma and Montreal in summer 2026

The new flights between Palma and Montreal will begin on June 17, 2026, directly connecting Son Sant Joan Airport with Canada.
Following a recent schedule update, the route will operate three weekly flights.
The planned schedule will be:
- Palma → Montreal flights: Monday, Thursday and Saturday
- Montreal → Palma flights: Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
The first flight will depart from Montreal on the night of June 17, arriving in Mallorca the following day.
The route will be available until October 24, 2026.
The new Airbus A321XLR arrives in Mallorca
The Palma–Montreal route will be one of the first operated with the new Airbus A321XLR, an aircraft designed for long-haul flights with improved efficiency and a premium onboard experience.
The aircraft will have a capacity of 182 passengers and will feature:
- 14 fully lie-flat Signature Class seats
- 168 Economy Class seats
It will also be Air Canada’s first narrow-body aircraft to include lie-flat business class seating, bringing a wide-body experience to a more efficient aircraft type.
Mallorca strengthens its international connections with Canada
The new direct route represents a major boost to Mallorca’s air connectivity with North America and opens new opportunities for both tourism and international travel between the two destinations.
Air Canada has highlighted that Palma de Mallorca was chosen for its combination of beaches, gastronomy, culture and Mediterranean lifestyle.
The airline will also become the first Canadian carrier to operate direct flights between Canada and Mallorca.
