The Firó de Sóller 2025 will be celebrated with all its intensity and symbolism from May 8 to 12, commemorating one of the most iconic feats in Mallorcan history: the victory of the people of Sóller against a Turkish-Algerian corsair attack on May 11, 1561. This traditional festivity, declared of cultural interest, combines historical reenactments, processions, music, exhibitions, and thrilling popular battles, attracting thousands of visitors each year. One of its highlights is the battle between Moors and Christians.
What is the Firó de Sóller?
The origins of the Firó de Sóller date back to the heroic defense by the people of Sóller against a pirate assault in the 16th century. Although the celebration was initially religious, in 1855 a reenactment of the battle between Moors and Christians was introduced, which eventually evolved into one of Mallorca’s most popular festivals. Today, the Firó is an immersive experience where the residents of the Valley proudly relive their history, represented by figures such as Captain Angelats, the Valentes Dones, the Moorish King, and the Viceroy of Rocafull.
With parades, historical figures, floral offerings, musical performances, and strong community participation, Firó Sóller 2025 promises to be an unforgettable edition.
