January sees the arrival of the Challenge Ciclista Mallorca 2024, an emblematic event that marks the start of the 2024 cycling season. From 24 to 28 January, Mallorca will become the epicentre of world cycling, hosting the 33rd edition of this prestigious event. Organised by Unisport Consulting, the competition is shaping up to be an exciting display of skill on wheels, with the world’s best teams and cyclists taking part.

The big news this year is the inclusion of the women’s race, a milestone that adds a new chapter to the history of the Challenge Ciclista Mallorca. The commitment to equality in cycling translates into the live broadcasting of both races, men’s and women’s, on TVE’s Eurosport and Teledeporte channels. This means that millions of viewers around the world will have the opportunity to watch the cycling action from their homes.

The event will be spread over eight days, immersing Mallorca in a week full of excitement and fierce competition. Five trophies will shape the overall standings. The round of challenges will begin on Wednesday 24th January with the Calvià Trophy, followed by the Ses Salines-Felanitx Trophy (Thursday 25th January), the Serra de Tramuntana-Selva-Lluc Trophy (Friday 26th January), the Pollença-Port d’Andratx Trophy (Saturday 27th January) and culminating with the Palma Trophy on Sunday 28th January.

The competition will feature the participation of 24 teams, eight of them from the WorldTeam category, including names of the stature of Soudal, Movistar, UAE, Bora, Intermarché, EF Education, Cofidis and Arkéa. In addition, six Spanish teams, including Movistar, Burgos, Caja Rural, Euskaltel, Kern Pharma, and the newly formed Illes Balears Arabay, will bring local fervour to the competition.

In its 33rd edition, this competition continues to consolidate itself as a meeting point for cycling enthusiasts and a showcase for emerging and established talents. Mallorca, with its landscapes and challenging routes, stands as the perfect setting for elite cyclists from all over the world to demonstrate their skills on two wheels. The Challenge Ciclista Mallorca 2024 promises to be not only a competition, but a unique cycling experience that will also promote the island during its broadcast.

Garden, sponsor of the Challenge Ciclista Mallorca 2024

As in the two previous editions, Garden Hotels and Luxcom will continue to be the main private sponsors of the race, both for the women’s Challenge and the men’s Challenge. In their hotels Playa Garden Selection Hotel & Spa and Alcúdia Garden Aparthotel, the big caravan of both races will stay for ten days. This is an agreement that involves 3,000 stays, including runners, team staff, organisers and accredited national and international media during the two races.
