On 28 June 2026, Magaluf will become a large open-air cultural stage thanks to an initiative that will bring the spirit of the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest to the coast of Calvià. The new Gabriel Escarrer Juliá seafront promenade will host a unique experience combining cinema, music and Mediterranean scenery on one of the most special nights at the beginning of summer.

The event will also serve as a prelude to the 16th edition of the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest, one of Europe’s most important film festivals, whose in-person programme will take place in Mallorca from 24 July to 2 August 2026.

The activity will transform Magaluf’s seafront into an open cultural space for both residents and visitors.

For the occasion, a large LED screen will be installed by the sea, along with a sunbed area where the public will be able to comfortably enjoy a different kind of evening with the Mediterranean as a backdrop.

The initiative forms part of Calvià Town Council’s strategy to consolidate the municipality as one of the Mediterranean’s major audiovisual hubs and is included within the 2026 Year of Cinema in Calvià.

Programme of the event in Magaluf

The event will begin at 8:00 pm and will feature a programme combining music and cinema.

8:00 pm – Music session by Sideways

The evening will start with a performance by Sideways, one of Mallorca’s best-known DJs and music selectors.

His sessions stand out for their mix of musical styles, references to pop culture and a festive atmosphere capable of connecting with very diverse audiences.

9:00 pm – Screening of The Moment

The highlight of the night will be the screening of The Moment (2026), directed by Aidan Zamiri.

The film explores the cultural phenomenon that emerged around the Brat universe and follows the journey of Charli XCX as she became one of the most influential artists in contemporary music.

Through unseen footage and an intimate look at the music industry, the feature film reflects on success, creativity, public exposure and identity in the digital age.

After the film – Aina Losange

After the screening, music will once again take centre stage with a performance by Aina Losange.

Considered one of the new names to watch in the contemporary electronic and cultural scene, the artist will bring the evening to a close with a session marked by a blend of genres, rhythms and influences.

Calvià strengthens its commitment to cinema

This action comes at a key moment for the municipality’s audiovisual positioning.

Recently, Calvià became the first municipality in the Balearic Islands to join the Spain Film Commission, thereby reinforcing its strategy to attract film productions and encourage the development of projects linked to the audiovisual sector.

In recent months, the municipality has also hosted specialised events such as conferences on artificial intelligence applied to cinema, the AI Movie Awards festival and the international forum CONECTA Magaluf.

In addition, the Town Council has promoted the route “Calvià, Film Set”, an itinerary that allows visitors to discover locations in the municipality used in major national and international productions.

Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest, one of Europe’s major festivals

Created by Filmin, the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest has consolidated itself as the world’s largest hybrid festival, combining an in-person edition in Mallorca with an online programme.

Over its sixteen-year history, the festival has brought together filmmakers, artists, producers and audiences from all over the world, turning Mallorca into one of the main cultural centres of the Mediterranean summer.

Its programme combines international premieres, new voices in contemporary cinema, concerts, workshops, professional meetings and activities for all audiences.
