Paysage Miró is much more than an exhibition: it is the most ambitious cultural project ever dedicated to Joan Miró in Mallorca and the Balearic Islands. A unique opportunity to rediscover the artist’s work and creative universe through more than 100 pieces —including paintings, sculptures, documents, and personal objects— displayed across four exhibition spaces in Palma.
This major collective exhibition, the result of an unprecedented alliance between cultural institutions such as the Museo Reina Sofía, Es Baluard, the Miró Mallorca Foundation and Casal Solleric, opens on 30 July 2025 and will remain open until 2026 in some venues.
A journey through Miró’s landscape
The Paysage Miró project in Palma is structured into four exhibitions that are independent but thematically connected. Each offers a comprehensive view of Miró’s artistic evolution between 1916 and 1981, as well as his deep connection with Mallorca.
La Lonja de Palma – “The Initial Force”
From 31 July to 8 February
Bronze sculptures that engage with the Gothic architecture of La Lonja, reflecting the symbolic, ancestral, and cosmic power of Miró’s work.
Fundació Miró Mallorca – “The Magic Spark”
From 30 July to 11 January
An intimate journey through his personal and artistic influences. Featuring works by Picasso, Calder, and Klee, among others.
Es Baluard Museum – “Painting Between Things”
From 1 August to 9 November
An exploration of how Miró broke away from traditional painting through a more tactile, conceptual, and poetic approach.
Casal Solleric – “Colour and Its Shadow”
From 1 August to 9 November
A non-linear journey through Miró’s plastic universe, focusing on the dialogue between painting and sculpture, especially from the 1960s onwards.
Miró and Mallorca: an eternal bond
Paysage Miró highlights the inspiration Miró found on the island: its light, its silence, and its landscape as an artistic refuge. The exhibition also recalls the historic 1970s La Lonja show and Miró’s impact on Mallorca’s contemporary art scene.
Additionally, the Museo de Mallorca joins in with an exhibition dedicated to the historic Serie Mallorca, published by Sala Pelaires in 1973.
Paysage Miró in Palma: a must-see exhibition
If you’re in Mallorca this summer, Paysage Miró is a must-see event. Four venues, one common thread: Miró’s vision of the world, of art… and of Mallorca.
