The Mountain Film Festival 2024 in Palma will be held from October 14 to 22, bringing together lovers of documentary films and the mountains for its 15th edition. This festival, which will screen 22 documentaries from seven countries, will take place in several iconic venues around the city, with the Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza being one of the main locations.

The event was officially presented on October 7 in the courtyard of Las Rentadoras at La Misericordia. The presentation was attended by the Director General of Music and Performing Arts of the Palma City Council, Rafel Brunet, along with other authorities such as the Vice President of the Consell de Mallorca, Antònia Roca, and the festival director, Bartomeu Tomàs.

From October 15 to 20, the Teatre Xesc Forteza will host the majority of the festival’s activities, which this year will focus on the themes of safety and medicine in mountain environments. In addition to the screenings, attendees can enjoy conferences, talks, round tables, and dramatized readings.

The festival will also feature activities in other locations across Mallorca, such as the Teatre Principal de Palma, Ca n’Oleo, the children’s library in Nou Llevant, and Ca n’Alluny, the house of the writer Robert Graves in Deià.

International documentaries and activities

The Mountain Film Festival 2024 in Palma is an international event that will screen documentaries on mountaineering, nature, and adventure, all aimed at showcasing the beauty and challenges of mountain environments. Additionally, three awards will be given to the best works.

This festival is a must for both cinema and mountain enthusiasts, combining a passion for nature with the seventh art. Attendees will also be able to participate in the various parallel activities that enrich the program.
