The 2025 Fira de Sant Tomàs and the 18th Mostra de Matances return to Sineu, one of the most traditional December events in Mallorca. The fair brings together on December 14th winter gastronomy, folk culture, native animals, artisan stalls and rural-themed demonstrations.
As every year, the event features activities for all ages: tastings, animal exhibitions, demonstrations, traditional music, dance, crafts and special menus offered by local restaurants.

What to find at the 2025 Fira de Sant Tomàs in Sineu

The fair showcases a wide variety of activities linked to Mallorcan traditional culture and the world of “matances” (the traditional pig-slaughter season):
- Recreation of traditional matances.
- Tasting of fried sobrassada and local wine.
- Tasting of matances dishes and winter cuisine at local restaurants.
- Exhibition by the Ca Rater Club and the Ca Mè.
- Hunting exhibition organised by the Sineu Hunters’ Society.
- Exhibition of carriages, harness demonstrations and horse-and-cart rides for children.
- Exhibition of birds by Natura Parc.
- Gathering of Ca de Bestiar registered in the breed’s studbook.
- Exhibition of native poultry breeds from the Balearic Islands.
- Exhibition and sale of farm animals.
- Artisan and local product market, Christmas décor and seasonal goods.
Key times at the 2025 Fira de Sant Tomàs (14th December)
- 09:30 h – Parade of xeremiers (bagpipers) and gegants.
- 10:00 h – Garden play area at Sa Plaça (until 13:45 h).
- 11:00 h – Folk dance performance with the Copeo de Sineu group, at Es Fossar.
- 12:00 h – Folk dance performance with Brot d’Alfabaguera, at Es Fossar.
- 12:00 h – Performance by the Xeremiers de Sineu, at Sa Plaça.
- 12:00 h – Fat Pig Contest
- During the awards ceremony, a tribute will be paid to Antònia Ferriol (Embutits Ferriol) for her Gold Medal from the Regulatory Council of Sobrassada de Mallorca.
