On Sunday, April 27, 2025, the neighborhood of Es Pil·larí will once again become the gastronomic epicenter of Palma with the celebration of the Fira del Llonguet 2025. This event, declared of municipal interest, brings together bakers, artisans, and local gastronomy enthusiasts every year in a festive day where the authentic llonguet takes center stage.

Organized by the Es Pil·larí Neighborhood Association with the support of the Palma City Council and the Association of Pastry Chefs and Bakers of the Balearic Islands, the fair aims to keep alive the tradition of the llonguet, an iconic bread of Palma with a history deeply linked to the island’s bakeries and ovens.

  • Charity llonguet sale: All proceeds will go to ADAA, an organization that supports people with critical illnesses.

  • Live cooking demonstrations with local chefs: Including @irenemartinezlp, chef at restaurant NUS, who will surprise attendees with a llonguet featuring anchovies with sunomono.

  • Live music: Concerts and live performances to liven up the day.

  • Artisan market: Local products and crafts to take a piece of Mallorca home with you.

  • Children’s activities: Workshops and games to ensure the little ones also enjoy the fair.

What makes llonguet special?

The llonguet is a crispy, light roll with a distinctive groove on top. For decades, it has been a staple of breakfasts and snacks in Mallorca, often served with sobrasada, Mahón cheese, or serrano ham. Its artisanal preparation and unmistakable flavor make it a true icon of local bakery tradition.

Since 2015, the Fira del Llonguet has worked to promote this bread, encouraging its consumption and ensuring its continuity in island bakeries. Thanks to this fair, the llonguet has gained popularity, securing its place on Mallorcan tables for many years to come.
