The Son Pardo racecourse will host the upcoming March 14 and 15, 2026 the 3rd Hunting and Rural World Fair, an event that is becoming a key meeting point for the hunting sector and for everyone interested in the traditions and culture of Mallorca’s countryside.
Promoted by the Consell de Mallorca, the fair combines nature, heritage and family leisure in a format designed for all audiences, with exhibitors, gastronomy, animals and exhibitions throughout the weekend.
An edition dedicated to traditional hunting methods

This year’s main theme will be traditional Mallorcan hunting, with special focus on the “song thrush a coll” technique, which features on the official poster. The image is inspired by a photograph from last year’s contest and stars Miquel Cifre, a 91-year-old hunter who represents the generational transmission of this knowledge.
The fair will also highlight other historic practices on the island, such as:
-
Hunting with Ibizan hounds
-
Partridge hunting with decoy and snares
-
Goat hunting with dogs and snares
These methods are part of the island’s ethnological heritage, which the Consell aims to declare an intangible cultural asset in order to guarantee their preservation.
Activities, animals and gastronomy for the whole family
Throughout the weekend, the venue will offer a lively atmosphere with a wide variety of proposals: exhibitions of native livestock, horses, competitions, workshops and stands featuring local products and traditional rural crafts.
Among the most anticipated activities will be the horse races, sheepdog demonstrations, hunting displays with greyhounds and archery, as well as a traditional slingshot shooting competition.
The gastronomic side will once again take centre stage with the popular showcookings, which in this edition will feature chefs Koldo Royo and Miquel Calent, both very well known to the local public.
Tributes and festive atmosphere
The official opening will take place on Saturday, March 14 at 12:00 pm and the fair will remain open until Sunday at 8:00 pm. During the event, the prizes for the hunting photography contest will be awarded and a tribute will be paid to people and entities linked to this field.
This year’s patron will be former footballer Francisco Soler Atencia, known as Paco or Chichi, a great enthusiast of the hunting world.
An event to showcase Mallorca’s rural world
Beyond the passion for hunting, the fair has become a showcase for the cultural, social and economic value of Mallorca’s rural world, bringing its traditions closer to new generations in a participatory and family-friendly environment.
With a programme that combines tradition, education and entertainment, the Son Pardo event is set to be one of the major highlights of March in Mallorca.
