The 2025 Christmas Lights Switch-On in Palma will mark a turning point this year. The City Council has announced that, for the first time, the event will take place in Plaça d’Espanya, recently renovated, featuring a large-scale visual and musical show expected to gather thousands of people. The date is set for Saturday, 22 November at 7:00 p.m., officially kicking off the Christmas season in the city.
In addition, the Christmas lighting is undergoing its greatest expansion in years: it will reach every neighbourhood in Palma, with 3,350 decorative modules and over 614 kilometres of garlands installed across around 200 streets. A display that, in the words of the City Council, aims to “recover and strengthen traditions” and reinforce the festive character of the Balearic capital during winter.
