The programme will run over five days and combine activities for different audiences, from sensory experiences to outdoor family events.

Wednesday 4 November: The Train of the Senses

The celebrations will begin on Wednesday 4 November at 7 pm with “The Train of the Senses”, a guided tour accompanied by a sensory workshop aimed at adults.

The activity will offer visitors the chance to discover traditional Mallorcan products such as wine, carob, almonds, soap and salt, while learning about the importance of the railway in transporting goods and supporting the island’s agricultural, craft and industrial development.

Thursday 5 November: screening of La escuela de los trenes

On Thursday 5 November at 7 pm, the documentary “La escuela de los trenes” (The Railway School), directed by Toni Madico, will be screened.

A museum exploring the history of Mallorca’s railway

The Museu del Ferrocarril de Mallorca opened in November 2025 in the former locomotive sheds at Son Carrió station, in the municipality of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar. Its aim is to preserve and promote the island’s railway heritage through an experience combining history and technology.

The museum’s visitor experience includes recreations of a late 19th-century railway station, immersive screenings, holograms, a restored historic railway carriage and interactive spaces exploring different aspects of the evolution of Mallorca’s railway network.

During its first year, the museum recorded 9,603 visits and attendances: 2,127 in 2025 and 7,476 during the first ten months of 2026.
