The municipal Nordic Walking in Palma 2026 programme launches its spring calendar with a consolidated proposal: more than 800 participants in the first quarter and a total of 90 sessions planned throughout the year.

Promoted by the Institut Municipal de l’Esport (IME), this programme stands out as one of the most interesting free activities for those looking to stay active in Palma in an accessible, outdoor setting.

What is the Nordic Walking programme in Palma

nordic walking routes palma

Nordic Walking is a physical activity based on walking with poles, allowing you to work up to 90% of the body’s muscles.

The municipal programme is designed to:

  • Promote healthy lifestyle habits
  • Offer accessible sport for all ages
  • Adapt to different fitness levels

The sessions are free, guided and organised in groups, which encourages consistency and motivation.

An expanded programme in 2026: more routes and more places

In 2026, the City Council of Palma has strengthened the programme:

  • From 12 to 90 sessions per year
  • Groups expanded to up to 100 participants per session
  • Three activity blocks:
    • Health
    • Sport
    • Nature

This growth responds to high demand and the rise of outdoor sports activities.

New nature routes from April

From April onwards, the nature routes block begins, with routes through some of Palma’s most attractive green areas:
  • Bellver Forest
  • El Carnatge
  • Son Quint
  • Na Burguesa
  • Ciutat Jardí

These routes combine physical activity with natural surroundings, one of the programme’s key strengths.
