Palma will bid farewell to 2025 and welcome 2026 with a major open-air New Year’s Eve celebration, once again turning the historic city centre into a meeting point for residents and visitors. Cort Square and Plaza de la Reina will host a festive event featuring live music, DJs and the traditional countdown chimes, designed for all audiences.

The event will take place on Tuesday, 31 December, with simultaneous activities in both locations until 1:40 am in Cort and 2:30 am in Plaza de la Reina.

Where the New Year’s Eve countdown will take place in Palma

Cort Square: music and main celebration

The celebration returns to Plaça de Cort, following the positive response last year.
In this iconic setting, DJ Juan Campos will liven up the night with a musical session featuring major hits from the 1970s to the present day.

Schedule at Cort Square

  • Music starts: 11:30 pm
  • New Year’s countdown chimes: 12:00 am
  • End of the session: 1:40 am

Plaza de la Reina: an alternative to continue the celebration

At the same time, Plaça de la Reina will also host New Year’s Eve festivities.
A giant screen will be installed to follow live what is happening in Cort and, after the countdown, a DJ will keep the music going until 2:30 am.

This option will allow people to enjoy New Year’s Eve in the city centre without needing to access Cort if capacity is reached.

Capacity control and access

Due to space limitations in Cort Square, access controls will be implemented this year:

  • Capacity will be limited
  • Access will only be allowed via Colón and Palau Reial streets
  • Once capacity is reached, the celebration will continue in Plaza de la Reina

The Local Police will coordinate access points to ensure safety throughout the night.

New Year’s Eve at Cort and Plaza de la Reina is firmly established as one of the most popular ways to see out the year in Palma, offering a free, central and lively alternative, with no need to book dinner or buy tickets.
