Mercat del Llibre: programme in Vilafranca
The kick-off will be on Sunday 21 April with the presentation of the book “Ales, Ales, Ales. Una volada per damunt Vilafranca”, by Maria Estelrich from Vilafranca and illustrated by Pere Pascual. This work, published by the Ajuntament de Vilafranca, immerses the reader in the toponymic, cultural, festive and human reality of the town of Vilafranca.
The programme also includes activities such as storytelling by the Menorcan Gemma Moll, Sant Jordi’s Day on 23 April with bookmark workshops at the Municipal Library, and the activity “Un Sant Jordi per a la igualtat”, which seeks to make women’s contribution to literature visible.
In addition, there will be school visits to the Library, presentation of the book “1.111 llamps i pestes”, by Antoni Rodríguez, educational activities and a reading club session based on the work “Les Cendres a la Piscina”, by Laura Gost, among other enriching activities.
The programme is organised and coordinated by Vilafranca Town Council, in collaboration with other socio-cultural entities of the town, and has the support of the Department of Culture of the CONSELL DE MALLORCA in some of these activities. It is a joint effort to promote reading and the love of books in the Vilafranca community and beyond.
Vilafranca de Bonany Book Market is more than an event; it is a celebration of culture, creativity and knowledge shared through the pages of books. Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of literature and enjoy a week full of literary discoveries and emotions!
