This summer, music lovers in Mallorca have an unmissable date: the celebration of the 26th anniversary of Garito Café, the legendary club that has been a benchmark for soul, funk, house and jazz music on the island since 1998. On the 24th of August, Es Jardí, in Calvià, will be the setting for a party that promises to exceed expectations after last year’s overwhelming success at the Castillo San Carlos, where more than 3,000 people enjoyed an unforgettable night.
On this occasion, Garito Café, now known as Garito Glup Yeah, has joined forces with Panela! -the company directed by Paco Colombás, specialised in live music and DJ services for events- to offer a unique experience in which music will be the main protagonist. In addition, the celebration will be made even more special with the participation of the Mallorcan DJ Kiko Navarro, who will also be celebrating his birthday that night. Alongside him will be renowned figures such as Nacho Velasco, Alex from Tokyo and Gÿe, guaranteeing a night of vibrant rhythms and surprising mixes.
A legendary career
Since its opening in the Dársena de Ca’n Barbarà, Garito Café has quickly established itself as a meeting point for lovers of good music and unforgettable sessions. Over the years, the club brought renowned international DJs to the island, such as Pèpè Bradock, Âme, Gilles Peterson, Ian Pooley, and many others, who helped cement Garito’s reputation as one of the most emblematic venues on Mallorca’s music scene.
Despite its closure in 2021, the spirit of Garito Café lives on through Garito Glup Yeah, an ephemeral brand that has managed to reinvent itself and adapt to the new times, organising events in different parts of Mallorca and offering its services for private celebrations. This new chapter in the history of Garito shows that the passion for music has no limits and that, although times change, the good vibes and the desire to celebrate together always remain.
