The Marcha de Güell a Lluc a Peu commemorates its 50th anniversary in 2024, consolidating its position as one of the most popular and eagerly awaited events in Mallorca. This iconic route, which takes place on the first Saturday in August, attracts thousands of participants, both locals and tourists, who come together to live a unique and challenging experience.

A tradition that began on 17th July 1974 when a group of friends decided to walk from the now defunct Bar Güell to the Monastery of Lluc to thank the Virgin for a miracle. The following day, 18 July 1974, the first official march was held with approximately thirty participants. Since then, the march has grown exponentially, attracting more than 50,000 people at its busiest editions.

Registration and participation

In celebration of the 50th anniversary, an event was held at the Fundació Sa Nostra Can Tàpera, where tribute was paid to the Official College of Physiotherapists for their invaluable support to the walkers, and to Real Mallorca for their contribution to sport and social integration on the island.
