Mallorca will host the first edition of the Mallorca Chamber Music Festival from 3rd to 7th September 2026, a new event dedicated to chamber music featuring five concerts in Palma and Alar\u00f3. The programme includes works by composers such as Strauss, Dvorak, Brahms, Granados, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Mahler and Alb\u00e9niz, as well as a special concert paying tribute to Ramon Llull.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Mallorca Chamber Music Festival 2026<\/strong> celebrates its first edition this September with five days of live music and a programme centred on some of the great works of the chamber music repertoire.<\/p>\n

The first three concerts will take place on 3rd, 4th and 5th September in the Sala Mozart at the Audit\u00f2rium de Palma<\/strong>. On Sunday 6th, the festival will move to Ca n’Oleo for a concert paying tribute to Ramon Llull, before concluding on Monday 7th at the Teatre d’Alar\u00f3.<\/p>\n

The festival has been created with the aim of bringing together in Mallorca young musicians developing their careers both in Spain and abroad. Its founder and artistic director is Mallorcan violinist Joan L\u00f3pez de Soria<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When is the Mallorca Chamber Music Festival 2026?<\/h2>\n

\"Mallorca<\/p>\n

The first edition will take place from Thursday, 3rd to Monday, 7th September 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Palma will host four of the five events: three consecutive concerts at the Audit\u00f2rium and the tribute to Ramon Llull at Ca n’Oleo.<\/p>\n

The final concert will take place in Alar\u00f3, extending the programme beyond Palma.<\/p>\n

Mallorca Chamber Music Festival 2026 programme<\/h2>\n

Thursday, 3rd September<\/h3>\n

7:30 pm. Sala Mozart, Audit\u00f2rium de Palma.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The festival will open with Metamorphosen<\/em> by Richard Strauss, in its arrangement for string septet.<\/p>\n

The performers will be Manuel P\u00e9rez and Miguel \u00c1ngel Guerrero on violin; Laura Torroba and Ignacio Fern\u00e1ndez on viola; Fabiola Sebasti\u00e1n and Jairo Rodr\u00edguez on cello; and Pablo Figueras on double bass.<\/p>\n

After a short interval, the programme will continue with Anton\u00edn Dvorak’s Piano Quartet No. 2 in E-flat major<\/em>, performed by Almudena Quintanilla on violin, Jordi Romero on viola, Jairo Rodr\u00edguez on cello and Javier Moy\u00e0 on piano.<\/p>\n

Friday, 4th September<\/h3>\n

7:30 pm. Sala Mozart, Audit\u00f2rium de Palma.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The second evening will feature Trio Moment<\/strong>, formed by Joan L\u00f3pez de Soria on violin, Fabiola Sebasti\u00e1n on cello and Javier Moy\u00e0 on piano.<\/p>\n

The programme will include Alexander Krein’s Elegy, Op. 16<\/em>; Enrique Granados’s Piano Trio, Op. 50<\/em>; and, after the interval, Johannes Brahms’s Piano Trio No. 1, Op. 8<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Saturday, 5th September<\/h3>\n

7:30 pm. Sala Mozart, Audit\u00f2rium de Palma.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Schubert and Mendelssohn will take centre stage on the festival’s third evening.<\/p>\n

The first half will feature Franz Schubert’s Piano Quintet in A major, D.667 \u201cThe Trout\u201d<\/em>, performed by Joan L\u00f3pez de Soria, Jordi Romero, Jairo Rodr\u00edguez, Pablo Figueras and Javier Moy\u00e0.<\/p>\n

This will be followed by Felix Mendelssohn’s Octet in E-flat major, Op. 20<\/em>, with Almudena Quintanilla, Manuel P\u00e9rez, Miguel \u00c1ngel Guerrero and Joan L\u00f3pez de Soria on violin; Laura Torroba and Ignacio Fern\u00e1ndez on viola; and Fabiola Sebasti\u00e1n and Jairo Rodr\u00edguez on cello.<\/p>\n

Concert paying tribute to Ramon Llull on 6th September<\/h2>\n

Sunday, 6th September<\/h3>\n

7:30 pm. Ca n’Oleo, Carrer de l’Almudaina, 4, Palma.<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the special events of this first edition will be a concert marking the 710th anniversary of the death of Ramon Llull<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The programme will bring together Frank Bridge’s Lament for Two Violas<\/em>; Anton Webern’s Langsamer Satz for String Quartet<\/em>; and Handel-Halvorsen’s Passacaglia for Violin and Cello<\/em>.<\/p>\n

After the interval, the musicians will perform Isaac Alb\u00e9niz’s Mallorca (Barcarola), Op. 202<\/em>, with Pablo Figueras on double bass and Javier Moy\u00e0 on piano, followed by Gustav Mahler’s Piano Quartet in A minor<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The tribute is inspired by Ramon Llull’s intellectual and spiritual world, particularly the Llibre d’amic e amat<\/em>, and offers a musical journey through ideas such as introspection, contemplation, landscape and memory.<\/p>\n

The festival will conclude in Alar\u00f3<\/h2>\n

Monday, 7th September<\/h3>\n

8:00 pm. Teatre d’Alar\u00f3, Carrer de Sant Vicen\u00e7 Ferrer, 33.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first edition will conclude outside Palma with two of the major works performed during Saturday’s programme.<\/p>\n

The audience will be able to hear Schubert’s Piano Quintet in A major, D.667 \u201cThe Trout\u201d<\/em> and Mendelssohn’s Octet in E-flat major, Op. 20<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The concert will begin at 8:00 pm at the Teatre d’Alar\u00f3.<\/p>\n

Young musicians at the Mallorca Chamber Music Festival<\/h2>\n

The project was created by violinist Joan L\u00f3pez de Soria<\/strong>, founder and artistic director of the festival.<\/p>\n

After graduating with honours from the Real Conservatorio Superior de M\u00fasica de Madrid, he is currently continuing his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and is a member of Spain’s National Youth Orchestra.<\/p>\n

The first edition also brings together Almudena Quintanilla, Manuel P\u00e9rez, Miguel \u00c1ngel Guerrero, Laura Torroba, Ignacio Fern\u00e1ndez, Jordi Romero, Fabiola Sebasti\u00e1n, Jairo Rodr\u00edguez, Pablo Figueras and Javier Moy\u00e0.<\/p>\n

The new festival aims to turn Mallorca into a meeting point for these young performers through chamber music.<\/p>\n

Tickets for the Mallorca Chamber Music Festival 2026<\/h2>\n

Individual tickets for the three concerts at the Audit\u00f2rium de Palma cost \u20ac25 per concert<\/strong>. A pass covering all three concerts on 3rd, 4th and 5th September is also available for \u20ac60<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Ramon Llull tribute concert on 6th September at Ca n’Oleo is free until capacity is reached<\/strong>, with tickets available through Ticket IB.<\/p>\n
