Entitled <strong>&#8220;La Serra de Tramuntana, Then and Now&#8221;<\/strong>, the exhibition at <strong>La Miseric\u00f2rdia Cultural Centre<\/strong> compares some of Mallorca&#8217;s most iconic landscapes as they appeared more than a century ago with how they look today.<\/p>\n<p>Organised by the <strong>Consell de Mallorca<\/strong> to mark the <strong>15th anniversary of the Serra de Tramuntana&#8217;s designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site<\/strong>, the exhibition will be open to visitors <strong>until July 12, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-46661\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcacaprice.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/exposicion-serra-tramuntana.webp\" alt=\"Serra de Tramuntana exhibition\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1200\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>When and where to visit the exhibition<\/h2>\n<p>The exhibition can be visited at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Venue:<\/strong> La Miseric\u00f2rdia Cultural Centre<\/li>\n<li><strong>City:<\/strong> Palma de Mallorca<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dates:<\/strong> Until <strong>July 12, 2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Admission:<\/strong> Free<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After its stay in Palma, the exhibition will tour several municipalities across the Serra de Tramuntana.<\/p>\n<h2>A visual journey from the 19th century to the present day<\/h2>\n<p>The exhibition features a selection of <strong>nine rephotographs<\/strong> created by <strong>Lluc Juli\u00e0 F\u00e0bregues<\/strong>, the creator of the documentary project <strong>&#8220;The Balearic Islands, Then and Now&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Each image pairs a 19th-century historical illustration with a modern photograph taken from exactly the same viewpoint, allowing visitors to see how Mallorca&#8217;s landscapes have evolved over time.<\/p>\n<p>The result offers a fascinating perspective on the transformation of the territory and the conservation of some of the Serra&#8217;s most iconic locations.<\/p>\n<h2>The featured locations<\/h2>\n<p>The exhibition includes some of Mallorca&#8217;s best-known landmarks, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alar\u00f3 Castle<\/li>\n<li>Coma-sema<\/li>\n<li>Cape Formentor<\/li>\n<li>Valldemossa Charterhouse<\/li>\n<li>Son Moragues Snow House<\/li>\n<li>Torre des Verger<\/li>\n<li>Dei\u00e0<\/li>\n<li>S\u00f3ller<\/li>\n<li>Puig de Son Nasi<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each rephotograph reveals how these remarkable places have changed over more than a century.<\/p>\n<h2>The legacy of Archduke Ludwig Salvator<\/h2>\n<p>The project is based on the work of <strong>Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria (1847\u20131915)<\/strong>, one of the greatest scholars of the Balearic Islands.<\/p>\n<p>After settling in Mallorca in 1867, he devoted decades to documenting the islands&#8217; landscapes, nature and traditions.
