The Arrels exhibition at La Lonja de Palma<\/strong> has already become one of Mallorca\u2019s major cultural highlights of 2026. German artist Katharina Grosse<\/strong>, an internationally acclaimed figure in contemporary art, transforms this iconic Gothic building into a spectacular immersive installation that will be open to visitors until January 31, 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Co-produced by the Govern de les Illes Balears<\/strong> and Es Baluard Museu d\u2019Art Contemporani de Palma<\/strong>, Arrels<\/strong> offers a unique artistic experience in one of the city\u2019s most visited heritage spaces.<\/p>\n

The Arrels<\/strong> exhibition transforms the interior of La Lonja de Palma<\/strong> into an immersive landscape where painting, architecture and nature merge.<\/p>\n

Katharina Grosse\u2019s intervention includes mounds of earth and a large uprooted tree, partially buried and transformed through colour to create a visual and sensory experience that completely alters the perception of the space.<\/p>\n

Known for taking painting beyond the traditional canvas, the artist uses colour as a tool to activate historic architecture and create an enveloping experience that invites visitors to explore the work from multiple perspectives.<\/p>\n
