The Palma Dansa 2026<\/strong> festival celebrates its 19th edition from April 29 to May 3, 2026<\/strong>, consolidating itself as one of the leading cultural events dedicated to contemporary dance in Mallorca. Over several days, Palma will become a large open-air stage featuring free performances, innovative choreographies and national and international artists.<\/p>\n

The festival will officially open on Wednesday, April 29<\/strong>, at 7:00 pm, in the lobby of Palma City Hall with the performance \u201cRisa y olvido\u201d<\/strong>, starring Taiwanese dancer from the Spanish National Ballet Yu Hsien Hsueh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The official presentation of the festival took place at Can Oms<\/strong>, with the participation of Palma\u2019s Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Culture, Javier Bonet<\/strong>, alongside the festival\u2019s artistic director, Mar Aguil\u00f3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During the presentation, Bonet highlighted the festival\u2019s positive evolution and thanked Aguil\u00f3 for her work leading Palma Dansa for the third consecutive year. He also emphasized the collaboration between various institutions and cultural venues across Mallorca participating in this edition.<\/p>\n

\u201cRisa y olvido\u201d, the opening performance<\/h2>\n

The festival will begin with \u201cRisa y olvido\u201d<\/strong>, a performance by Taiwanese dancer Yu Hsien Hsueh<\/strong>, member of the Spanish National Ballet.<\/p>\n

The piece won the first prize at the Spanish Dance and Flamenco Choreography Competition<\/strong> and is considered one of the highlights of this year\u2019s edition. According to Javier Bonet, the performance represents \u201cthe best possible opening\u201d for a festival committed to excellence and the international projection of dance.<\/p>\n
