{"id":45986,"date":"2026-03-05T09:00:45","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T08:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mallorcacaprice.com\/?p=45986"},"modified":"2026-02-25T13:25:42","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T12:25:42","slug":"feria-caza-y-mundo-rural-mallorca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mallorcacaprice.com\/en\/feria-caza-y-mundo-rural-mallorca\/","title":{"rendered":"The Hunting and Rural World Fair returns to Son Pardo on March 14 and 15"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"88\" data-end=\"412\">The <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Son Pardo<\/span><\/span> racecourse will host the upcoming <strong data-start=\"163\" data-end=\"191\">March 14 and 15, 2026<\/strong> the <strong data-start=\"195\" data-end=\"237\">3rd Hunting and Rural World Fair<\/strong>, an event that is becoming a key meeting point for the hunting sector and for everyone interested in the traditions and culture of Mallorca\u2019s countryside.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"414\" data-end=\"661\">Promoted by the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Consell de Mallorca<\/span><\/span>, the fair combines <strong data-start=\"487\" data-end=\"529\">nature, heritage and family leisure<\/strong> in a format designed for all audiences, with exhibitors, gastronomy, animals and exhibitions throughout the weekend.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"668\" data-end=\"731\">An edition dedicated to traditional hunting methods<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-45987 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcacaprice.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/feria-caza-mundo-rural-mallorca.webp\" alt=\"Presentation of the Hunting and Rural World Fair of Mallorca\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1066\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"733\" data-end=\"1099\">This year\u2019s main theme will be <strong data-start=\"774\" data-end=\"806\">traditional Mallorcan hunting<\/strong>, with special focus on the <strong data-start=\"852\" data-end=\"871\">\u201csong thrush a coll\u201d<\/strong> technique, which features on the official poster. The image is inspired by a photograph from last year\u2019s contest and stars <strong data-start=\"995\" data-end=\"1011\">Miquel Cifre<\/strong>, a 91-year-old hunter who represents the generational transmission of this knowledge.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1101\" data-end=\"1180\">The fair will also highlight other historic practices on the island, such as:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1301\">\n<li data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1216\">\n<p data-start=\"1184\" data-end=\"1216\">Hunting with Ibizan hounds<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1217\" data-end=\"1258\">\n<p data-start=\"1219\" data-end=\"1258\">Partridge hunting with decoy and snares<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1259\" data-end=\"1301\">\n<p data-start=\"1261\" data-end=\"1301\">Goat hunting with dogs and snares<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1303\" data-end=\"1478\">These methods are part of the island\u2019s ethnological heritage, which the Consell aims to declare an <strong data-start=\"1391\" data-end=\"1430\">intangible cultural asset<\/strong> in order to guarantee their preservation.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1485\" data-end=\"1544\">Activities, animals and gastronomy for the whole family<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1546\" data-end=\"1775\">Throughout the weekend, the venue will offer a lively atmosphere with a wide variety of proposals: exhibitions of native livestock, horses, competitions, workshops and stands featuring local products and traditional rural crafts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1777\" data-end=\"1985\">Among the most anticipated activities will be the <strong data-start=\"1825\" data-end=\"1849\">horse races<\/strong>, sheepdog demonstrations, hunting displays with greyhounds and archery, as well as a traditional slingshot shooting competition.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1987\" data-end=\"2263\">The gastronomic side will once again take centre stage with the popular <strong data-start=\"2060\" data-end=\"2076\">showcookings<\/strong>, which in this edition will feature chefs <strong data-start=\"2141\" data-end=\"2182\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Koldo Royo<\/span><\/span><\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2185\" data-end=\"2226\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Miquel Calent<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, both very well known to the local public.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2270\" data-end=\"2307\">Tributes and festive atmosphere<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2309\" data-end=\"2611\">The official opening will take place on <strong data-start=\"2341\" data-end=\"2381\">Saturday, March 14 at 12:00 pm<\/strong> and the fair will remain open until Sunday at 8:00 pm.
