Sa Bassa Blanca Museum in Alc\u00fadia<\/strong> presents a new exhibition that blends contemporary fashion with historical art: the Agatha Ruiz de la Prada exhibition at Sa Bassa Blanca<\/strong>, a unique project that invites visitors to rediscover the iconic NINS collection through the designs of the renowned Spanish designer.<\/p>\n

From June 2025 to August 2026, the underground space Aljub<\/em>\u2014home to courtly children\u2019s portraits from the 16th to the 19th centuries\u2014will also feature six children\u2019s outfits designed by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada<\/strong>. The exhibition creates a visual and conceptual dialogue<\/strong> between the historical pieces in the NINS collection and the colorful, avant-garde creations of the designer, building a narrative that spans centuries of evolution in children\u2019s fashion.<\/p>\n

A conversation across centuries: art, childhood and design<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The works of Zuloaga and Anglada-Camarasa<\/strong> are not the only ones connecting past and present this season in Mallorca. At Sa Bassa Blanca Museum, the new exhibition featuring Agatha Ruiz de la Prada invites visitors to observe how childhood aesthetics have evolved<\/strong>, from the rigid garments of European nobility to the more free, expressive, and conceptual designs of the 21st century.<\/p>\n

Among the highlights of this NINS edition are the Portrait of Louis XIV and his nurse<\/strong> by French artist Charles Beaubrun, and the Portrait of Louis XIII<\/strong> by Flemish painter Frans Pourbus the Younger. From Italy, the museum presents the Portrait of Ferdinand II de\u2019 Medici<\/strong>, recently added to the collection, alongside works by brothers Domenico and Valore Casini.<\/p>\n

In contrast, six dresses by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada\u2014originally showcased on the Pitti Immagine Bimbo children\u2019s fashion runway in Florence between 2002 and 2009\u2014bring color, symbolism, and poetry to the room. Among them are the iconic Menina dress<\/em>, a hand-painted silk coat, a lurex dress with PVC and felt details, as well as delicate silk and tulle or cotton velvet pieces from autumn-winter and spring-summer collections.<\/p>\n
