The Jane\u2019s Walk Palma Routes<\/strong> return in 2025 with a very special edition: they celebrate their tenth anniversary in the city! On May 9 and 10<\/strong>, residents and visitors will be able to take part in a series of free urban walks<\/strong> led by volunteers, designed to inspire reflection, dialogue and a deeper connection with the city from a critical, creative, and community-oriented perspective.This international movement, born in Toronto in 2007 in honor of urban activist Jane Jacobs<\/strong>, has already spread to over 200 cities in 37 countries. Palma is part of this global network that promotes the right to the city, conscious use of public space, and the importance of neighborhoods as vibrant and diverse hubs.<\/p>\n

What are the Jane\u2019s Walk Routes?<\/h2>\n

Inspired by the ideas of Jane Jacobs, the Jane\u2019s Walk Palma Routes<\/strong> are collective walks without designated experts, but with open conversations. Citizens share their knowledge, experiences, or research to explore topics such as local history, urban planning, mobility, heritage, gentrification, feminism, the environment, and neighborhood life.<\/p>\n

The goal is to encourage civic participation<\/strong> and collective reflection on the urban environment. These walks create bonds between neighbors, recover the memory of public spaces, and challenge us to rethink the kind of city we want to build. All this takes place in a free, unregistered, inclusive and welcoming environment.<\/p>\n
