Photographs are the only way to keep memory alive and, paradoxically, to restore the truth. From the private photographs kept in family albums to the memorials that recall the truncated fate of tens of thousands of people due to repression during the Civil War and the dictatorship, and including the same iconography of the Franco regime kept in official documents in all kinds of archives, images have been one of the cornerstones of the policies of memory and historical truth in Spain over the last fifty years.

Within the framework of the exhibition, international days will be held on Friday 24 October and Saturday 25 October. The aim of these days is to explore the relationship between historical memory and images, especially with regard to the experience under the Franco dictatorship, but in dialogue with other similar historical phenomena.

From Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm

Sundays: from 10 to 14.30 hrs.

Mondays closed
