Art Palma Brunch comes back in Mallorca in its 16th edition in 2021 after it was canceled in 2020. The event kicks off on March 20 and celebrates contemporary art in Mallorca. An event that returns with more force and a more extensive program, presenting the work of more than 45 artists of different nationalities. In this new call for the Art Palma Brunch in 2021, the individual exhibitions dedicated to women artists stand out: Lin Utzon, Alicia Framis, Dasha Shishkin, Mireia Sallarès, Teresa Margolles and Nuria Marqués. In addition, there will be an important presence of artists from the Balearic Islands in individual exhibitions: Bernardi Roig, Guiem Aulí, Nuria Marqués, Nauzet Mayor, Tomás Pizà, Joan Cabrer, Rafael Tur Costa and Pep Coll.
The public call initiated by the Art Palma Contemporani association in collaboration with the Palma Town Hall, the Mallorca Council, Rosa Blanca, CaixaForum, the Andratx Town Hall and the associated spaces Casal Solleric, CaixaForum, Es Baluard Museu, Fundació Miró Mallorca, 6a Galeria d’Art y Center de Cultura “Sa Nostra” is a celebration of contemporary art and culture in Mallorca. The program is extended this year with the incorporation of L21 Gallery in its new space in s’Escorxador. In addition, the Art Palma Brunch reaches out to the public with the Gallery Walks, a cycle of guided tours that will take place on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until May 15.
Art galleries open to the public
The galleries open their doors with all the health prevention measures. The public can enjoy contemporary art strolling through the historic center of Palma. You will have the opportunity to freely visit the exhibition spaces or by signing up for one of the 25 free guided tours that will take place until May 15 with the collaboration of the Palma Town Hall and the Andratx Town Hall.
Gallery Walks in Art Palma Brunch 2021
Art Palma Brunch gets closer to the public with the Gallery Walks, a cycle of guided tours that will be carried out in small groups accompanied by the expert curator in contemporary art Pau Waelder. The visits are conceived as a walk through the galleries of Palma in four itineraries lasting approximately one hour. And in them the public is invited to discover contemporary art, reflect and dialogue. The cycle of tours of the galleries and various associated spaces is completed with visits to the Maior Gallery in Pollença and to the CCA Andratx. The visits are offered in Catalan, Spanish and English and will take place on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until May 15. It is necessary to reserve a place in advance.
